LANCASTER, No. 12489, treble-grip action-body, automatic safe, best foliate-scroll engraving enclosing gold-inlaid and engraved game birds and wildfowl, the maker's name and serial number gold-inlaid, with full hardening-colour and blueing, highly-figured stock with recoil-pad, lever-latch forend, the barrels with concave rib and scroll-engraved breech-ends

The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed circa 1906 for an Indian Maharaja.
