A HIGHLY UNUSUAL SWORD IN HISPANO-TURKISH STYLE, the broad double-edged blade with double fullers on each face cut with a gilt geometric pattern, and pseudo-ricasso false-damascened in silver and gold with Islamic foliated patterns and with St. Irene arsenal mark on one face, the silver hilt with broad downbent tapering quillons pierced and chased with foliage, mandolin-shaped pommel and elongated oval grip chased en suite, and set throughout with shaped pieces of turquoise and two large panels of agate, in wooden scabbard entirely covered with silver sheet embossed and chased with a bold design of foliage and including two suspension mounts each with a pair of silver rings, the front set overall with turquoises and octagonal-shaped pieces of agate en suite with the hilt (some turquoises missing or damage, one agate panel cracked), 19th Century
