A SWEPT-HILT RAPIER with associated single-edged blade struck with a spur mark, iron hilt with guard comprising straight quillons, arms linked at the tips by two side-rings, the outer one formed by linking a scrolled bar to a S-shaped bar joining the knuckle-guard, inner trifurcated bar, punched and chased overall with running foliage retaining traces of original gilding, and writhen wire-bound wooden grip (pommel missing), early 17th Century; and another, in 17th Century style, with slender double-edged blade (point missing), straight swelling quillons, arms, double side-rings linked by inner and outer bars to the knuckle-guard, ovoidal pommel, and wire-bound wooden grip
