the circular moulded base on adjustable "nut" feet, the outer border and recessed bowl finely engraved with scrolling foliage on a hatched ground and set with a glazed semi-circular barometer with foliate engraved silvered dial, mercury thermometer above, the central silvered block calibrated for the beat scale and with square aperture for pendulum locking adjusted by two knobs to either side, the tripod legs terminating to a hanging plumb-line with polished steel spherical bob, the glazed circular silvered dial with Roman chapter ring and blued spade hands, large diameter seconds ring within inhabited scrolling foliate engraving on a hatched ground and with a cartouche above VI signed Hunt & Roskell, London, the movement comprising two separate assemblies, the upper with shouldered plates carrying the first four wheels including the 'scape wheel having deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets and steel rod pendulum with polished steel spherical bob, the lower assembly carrying the going barrel and centre wheel; with original gilt winding key; later wood base and perspex dome
