With jeweller's mark for Rubel

In 1939, Van Cleef & Arpels shifted their buisiness to New York, followed in six months time by their Parisian manufacturers, Rubel Frère. In 1943 the Americanized John Rubel & Co. had become a retail concern situated at 777 Fifth Avenue next to the Savoy Plaza, for the next six years specializing in quintessential 1940's gold jewellery and accessories, which were photographed widely in the publications of the period.
