BELGIUM
cover 1863 J.B. Moen's illustrated printed advertising XU5 (based on original design of Ocean Penny Post envelope by J. Valentine of Dundee, Scotland; with advertising of various Moen's publications on reverse) from Brussesl (24.4) to Turin (27.4) bearing 1861 "Medallions" 20c., cancelled "24" in oval bars and showing small framed "P.D." adjacent. An exquisite private advertising envelope based on a contemporary design of a famous propaganda envelope, and undoubtedly one of the earliest stamp dealer's envelopes ever produced, since the first philatelic publications had only appeared in 1862 (i.e. the previous year). Photo in colour.
