cover -- 1kr. black on buff vertical strip of four, the top 3 stamps with good to clear margins and lower stamp touched, and vertical pair (small fault at top) with 3kr. black on pale yellow, both with the usual margins touched in places, on 1853 E. to Jxheim bei Zweibrücken (15.2 arrival), cancelled "43" and showing framed "FREIBURG" d.s. (13.2) in red adjacent, with appropriate datestamps on reverse. A strip of four of the 1 Kreuzer black on salmon is of great rarity, and this also represents a most unusual and wonderful 9 kreuzer franking of the highest exhibition calibre. Ex Rothschild.
