A MEISSEN TRAVELLING PORCELAIN AND AUGSBURG SILVER-GILT SERVICE comprising: a Meissen écuelle, cover and stand moulded with scrolls and painted with harbour and landscape scenes and panels of flowers, merchants sitting beside packages, Orientals with their wares and galleons at anchor, equestrian figures before distant buildings within elaborate gilt scroll cartouches, the écuelle with tied green branch handles and flower terminals and the cover with a strawberry finial, gilt line rims (one side of stand broken and restored, minor chips to flower terminals), blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummer 21 to écuelle and 22 to stand, the stand 22.5cm diam.; a silver-gilt knife, fork, spoon, teaspoon and cartouche shaped spice-box on four feet chased and pounced with flowers, I/CD mark for Johann Christoph Drentwett II, cutler's mark for Johann V. Beckert, date mark for 1753-55; in a contemporary morocco leather travelling case with gilt scroll borders and red velvet interior, circa 1755
