A MEISSEN FIGURE OF A JANISSARY perhaps modelled by Georg Fritzche, in a pink hat incised with a star, yellow jacket, iron-red breeches and brown boots, holding an axe, a dagger at his waist and standing before a tree-stump on a rectangular lustred base (end of dagger and axe restored, minute chip to strap and underside of base), blue crossed swords mark, circa 1730
