A SWISS JEWELLED GOLD AND ENAMEL SNUFF-BOX
Geneva, circa 1780/1790, bearing prestige marks including a rubbed maker's mark and the discharge of Jean-Baptiste Fouache

Elongated oval box, the cover, base and sides enamelled with cartouches depicting playful putti in pink camaïeu on a cloudy grey ground, the borders enamelled with flowers between twisted ribbons, the side walls devided by chased pilasters, the border of the cover furthermore embellished with twisted rose-cut diamond-set silver ribbons, the thumb-piece similarly set with rubies and diamonds -- 95 mm wide.
