This form of serpentine-panelled doors appears on a cupboard that is labelled by Giles Grendey and which is illustrated in M. Jourdain and R. Edwards, Georgian Cabinet-Makers, London, rev. ed., 1955, p. 145, pl. 51. A bureau cabinet with the same feature and attributed to Grendey is illustrated in P. Broome, The Hyde Park Collection 1965-1990, New York, 1990, p. 81
