A FRENCH SILVER AND SILVER-GILT EIGHT PIECE TEA AND COFFEE SERVICE
Paris circa 1890, retailer's mark of Boin-Taburet

Comprising a coffee-pot, a teapot, a tea-kettle, stand and lamp, a sugar bowl with a pair of sugar tongs, a milk jug, a slop bowl and tray; each baluster-shaped and on plain rim foot, the spirally fluted bodies on matted wavy bands, the raised covers similarly chased, with bud and foliage finials, the bodies chased with blank elaborate rococo cartouches surrounded by scrolls, acanthus leaves and scales, the stand on four bracket feet, decorated with foliate husks, all contained in an oak travelling case, the brass lock engraved with "Boin-Taburet, 3 rue Pasquier, Paris", fully marked - tea-kettle with stand 29 cm (11½ in) high, coffee-pot 22.5 cm (8¾ in) high, tray 63 cm (24¾ in) wide
