by Nicolas Dandrieux, Paris, 1736/1737, with the charge and discharge of Hubert Louvet and the countermark of Louis Robin

Cartouche-shaped box with irregularly wavy outline, the cover chased with a cartouche framed by "C"-scrolls containing an architectural and foliate motif on a matted ground, the slightly concave sides engraved and chased with scrolls, the base with reeding containing wavy scrolls with flowers on a matted ground; the slightly raised thumbpiece -- 79 mm wide.

Nicolas Dandrieux, born circa 1691, struck his mark in 1716 and was still active in 1764.
