Louis XIV (1638-1715), King of France 1643-1715, dressed as a Roman Emperor, his head in profile to the left, with curled long brown wig, wearing a gold armour and a red drape; enamel on gold, oval -- 36 mm high, the upper border with minimal restoration, chased and engraved gold mount within a blue enamel bordered silver surround of rectangular shaped with canted corners.
