In 1947, although engaged in the business of setting up the Severn Wildfowl Trust (as the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust was then known) at Slimbridge, Scott continued to paint at his Edwardes Square home in London, using the ground floor room which had become part dining room, part office and part studio. He had returned from the war to continue his art from the point where he had left off: to paint his beloved wildfowl, as a manifestation of his safe return
