The rectangular back, arms and seat covered in close-nailed floral red damask, the arm-supports headed by a husk-trail, on cabriole legs headed by a scallop-shell within a C-scroll cartouche and terminating in a foliate scroll, the back legs stained beech, later blocks, some re-railing and later arms, the back of one leg stamped 242
