The hinged lid with central emblem of two crossed Ps centred by a flaming torch shaped as a J and with ribbon inscribed CAMPI TUI REPLE BUNTUR UBERTATE, the corners with a coronet surmounted by a phoenix, to the reverse with a sprung removable mirror and enclosing a red leather-lined interior with flat surface and five wells, two lidded, the fall-front concealing to the reverse a writing-surface and enclosing four variously-sized drawers and one sprung long drawer, the ormolu engraved Boudet, 143 & 144 Palais-Royal, the front with emblem conforming to the central emblem on the lid
