Half-titles, additional letterpress half-ltitle and title dated 1910 at rear of vol.I. 132 chromolithographed plates, 15 black-and-white plates, 68 full-page illustrations, all after Alfred Parsons. (5 coloured plates in vol.II with tissue guard adhering, about 4 other colour plates with small traces of tissue adhering.) Contemporary green morocco-backed cloth, spine gilt, t.e.g., original wrappers bound-in (light discolouration of spines, corners slightly bumped).
FIRST EDITION. A generally fine copy, bound from the 25 original parts, issued between September 5, 1910 and March 14, 1914. The originals of Royal Academician Alfred Parsons's plates are held by the Lindley Library. Nissen BBI 2166. (2)
