A COLLECTION OF WORKS BY PIETER CORNELIS DE MOOR Pieter Cornelis de Moor had his artistic training at the Art Academies of Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Antwerpen and studied under the auspicion of Puvis de Chavannes in Paris. Around 1890 his work became more and more symbolistic. He created an abstract fantasy world in which he strived for a spiritualisation of substance. His work was much admired in his time and can be charactarized as poetic and visionary. In 1989 the Drents Museum in Assen organized a solo-exhibition of the artist.
