A DELFT DORE SHAPED COMFIT- OR TOBACCOBOX WITH COVER AND INNER LID, painted in petit feu colours after a Louis XV silverwork example , the black ground body reserved with four rocaille cartouches containing flowerbranches divided by scrolling floral columns, with a shaped inner lid painted with a large blossoming branch in the Kakiemon style and with pointed ball finial in red, the domed cover similarly decorated to the box, applied with a figural finial modelled as a seated milkmaid wearing a black hat, a purple bodice, a dotted skirt, holding a blue jar in her right hand (the cover restored, pround base of finial, minor chips), circa 1740 circa 16 cm high See illustration
