A SILVER SPICETOWER, set on a circular fluted domed base with spreading rim, a cylindrical stem with reeded knob, the hexagonal spice-section applied with a pierced gallery, six knobs on the corners, pierced and engraved to simulate windows, fitted with a hinged door closing on a bolt, surmounted by an applied pierced gallery with six turret-form knobs on the corners, the tapering spire engraved to represent brickwork, topped by a compressed ball and (probably replaced) pennant finial, apparently unmarked, Germany, probably 18th Century
