Lot Essay

An attribution of Bonaventura Peeters (1614-1652) has been suggested on the basis of a comparison to a drawing of the harbour of Dunkirk in the Musées Royales des Beaux Arts, Brussels (Flemish Old Master Drawings from the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Brussels, Atlanta, High Museum of Art, 1980, pp. 67-9, no. 24).
An alternative attribution to Abraham Casembrot has also been advanced
