A preliminary study for the picture of the Leiden clergyman Adriaan van Boscheiden dated 1724, now in the Frans Halsmuseum, Haarlem (inv. no. 41-47). The putti on the drawing hold the arms of Haarlem, where the sitter was born, and Leiden, with the Marekerk of Leiden shown on the left
