TWO SILVER NIELLOED SNUFF BOXES
one with maker's mark in cyrillic AE, Moscow, 1886, the other IF, Moscow 1877

Both of oblong form with rounded corners, the former with cover decorated with a view of the Kremlin and bordered with nielloed scrolling foliage, the reverse with similar folaite panels over a gilt matted ground and centred with a panelled monogram; the latter chased and engraved to simulate wickerwork and with nielloed band inscribed in Cyrillic, each with gilt interior - 9cm and 8cm long (177gr)
