AN IMPRESSIVE 17TH CENTURY-STYLE PARCEL-GILT NAUTILUS CUP

On oval marble stand, the base cast and engraved with simulated sea waves and foliage and applied around the rim with flowers and trailing vines, the stem formed as a satyr carrying Amymone away on a dolphin, and with both arms raised to support the cup, the shell mounted with openworked foliage and sea waves, and flower heads in relief, the front with a mask, the shell surmounted with the figure of Neptune holding his spear in his left hand - 56cm high
