In basso relievo, the first depicting a chaffinch perched on a branch with butterflies, convolvulus, snowdrops and other flowers, with dedicatory label with the name obscured, the second with an Indian bee-eater, an Indian starling, and a Brazilian finch amidst flowers and standing on a tree stump with dedicatory label to Lady Howth, the third with a Canary Bird and a wasp among anemonies, the bee-eater picture in its original black and gilt-japanned frame with trellis angles and the others in conforming later frames, largely re-painted
