Lot Essay

Anna, Marchioness of Donegall, was one of the daughters of Sir Edward May. She married George Augustus Chichester, 2nd Marquess of Donegall in 1795 and died in 1849. Her son George Hamilton, 3rd Marquess of Donegall (1797-1883), was the father of the 8th Earl of Shaftesbury's wife.
