A type of wine glass so-called from its resemblance to the shape of two glasses shown in a painting circa 1721 by Sir Godfrey Kneller portraying two members of the Kit-Cat Club, a club of Whig politicians and men-of-letters existing circa 1700 - 1720 (The club was named after Christopher Cat, keeper of the tavern where the club met, and the mutton pies served there were known as Kit-Cats).
