Each raised on lozenge-shaped base, the rising centres and tapering stems fluted and with vase-shaped and fluted sockets with lozenge-shaped dripping pans - 29.5cm high (1058gr) (2)

Lot Essay

Almost identical candlesticks by Nicolas van Nuys dated 1803 were sold in these rooms on the 3rd of December, 1994, as lot 1022. Although those of Nicolas van Nuys were enhanced with beaded bands, the weights are similar and the sizes identical.
