the 13cm. diameter dial printed with a decorated compass star with gilt highlighted cardinal points, the blued steel needle with gilt fleur-de- lys at North with further 'N' and 'S' at either side of the pivot and with a rim operated needle clamp, the whole contained within a circular mahogany case with lid and glazed port (glass replaced)
