Comprising tea-kettle on stand and lamp, teapot, covered sugar-bowl and milk-jug, each with panels of stylised flowers on slightly matted ground, the covers with similar swirling panels, the kettle with swing handle chased with a frieze of similar flowers, the stand on four feet realistically chased with morning glory foliage and flowers, in two original boxes stamped Odiot Orfèvre à Paris. kettle on stand with raised handle 46.5 cm high

Provenance
The wooden box containing the kettle and stand is inset with a brass plaque engraved LLW, for the family de Warocqué, from Belgium.
Lot Essay
This set described by Odiot as au Chinois was created between 1860 and 1870 with a special method called au rongé. A similar set is illustrated in Odiot, l'Orfèvre, Olivier Gaube du Gers, nr 288.
