BOUVIER. A LARGE SILVER AND PINK GOLD MONTRE A TACT WITH LEVER ESCAPEMENT IN THE STYLE OF A.L. BREGUET
signed Bouvier, circa 1810

with glazed gilt lepine calibre movement, central going barrel, partly jewelled train, Robin pattern straight line lever escapement with jewelled pallets, mono-metallic balance, with regulator compensation curb and diamond endstone, the silvered engine-turned dial with silvered matt chapter ring with Roman numerals, moon style hands, the the case with engine-turned silver band and covers, pink gold bezels, lunette, bow, pendant and a tact arrow on the back, signed on movement- 62mm. diam.

Lot Essay

The case design of this watch is extremely similar to those produced by A.L. Breguet but the movement even though being of very high quality is clearly by a different hand.
