2° (282 x 198mm). Collation: π2 A-E6 F-G4. Red printing on first leaf, 53 lines, double column, full-page woodcut of the crucifixion and symbols of the evangelists (with names written backwards in banderoles) on verso of first leaf, ornamental initials. (One tear into text without loss, some light staining and spotting, lower margin of first 2 leaves slightly extended.) Modern brown morocco. Provenance: marginal annotations and 2 leaves of a MS. table at end in a contemporary hand.

Palau (175068) cites an edition printed in 1515 with 2, 58 and 24 leaves, the final 24 leaves possibly constituting Molino's Formularius instrumentorum, which is not present here. The only copy cited is in the British Museum, but we have not been able to trace it, or to confirm the printer and date.

2° (288 x 204mm). Collation: A-E6. 52 lines, double column. Woodcut arms of Manrique on title, border in 4 parts with inner border in 3 parts, large historiated initial and ornamental initials. (First leaf trimmed to lower border, reinforced at margins and rehinged with its conjugate A6, tiny wormholes in first leaf touching a few letters, occasional light browning.) Modern brown morocco. Provenance: unidentified Jesuit college (stamp on title).

FIRST EDITION of a work on the conversion of the infidels, dedicated to the Inquisitor General, Alphonse Manrique. Among the guide-lines offered by Loaces are ones on baptism, demons, damnation, miracles, etc. In a spirit of conciliation, he advocates the repair and upkeep of synagogues. Palau 139298, describing the edition as a "raro impreso". (2)
