Titles with xylographic initial with woodcut illustration, the first partly printed in red (initial just trimmed), large woodcut with Royal arms on versos, full-page woodcut of the Ascension of the Mother of God on a6. in vol.I and +8. in vol.II, woodcut initials, double column, gothic letter. (First two leaves to vol.I with marginal loss and extended, possibly lacking blank +4, tear in I.V7 with loss of text to 11 lines of one column, vol.II lacks first blank, a few small rustholes touching a few letters, a few leaves with marginal repairs, occasionally with loss to marginal notes, slightly affected by damp.) 18th-century English dark blue morocco, covers gilt with fillets and roundel decorations, spine gilt in compartments (slightly rubbed), g.e. Provenance: Luton Library (armorial bookplate).

Earliest edition listed by Brunet III-1977-1978, who mentions the contents of the volumes without a possible blank in the first gathering. The collation should be: I: +.? A10 B-X8 Y4, II: +8 AA-ZZ8 aa-cc8 dd6 ee4.
