LIMITED EDITION OF 263 COPIES, this one of 250 on paper. Thomas Sanderson (1840-1922) married Annie, daughter of Richard Cobden, in 1881. "In a symbolic act of union, he added her name to his and thereafter was known as Cobden-Sanderson." F.Adams Bookbindings by T.J.Cobden-Sanderson. New York, 1969. He began binding in 1884, established the Doves Bindery in March 1893. "Thereafter he made designs for others to follow, and supervised their work closely, but never again bound a book himself."
