Royal half-sheet 4° (264 x 189mm). Collation: [1-188 196] (1/1 text, 19/5r verse by Calliphilus Bernardinus of Robbiati on Filelfo, colophon, 19/5v register, 19/6 blank). 150 leaves. 35 lines. Type: 2:107(103)R. 3-8-line initials spaces with printed guide-letters. (2 tiny holes in 8/8 touching 2 letters, inscription washed from first leaf.) Modern blue morocco gilt- and blindstamped, g.e., by Riviere and Son.
FIRST AND ONLY 15TH-CENTURY EDITION. Filelfo began writing these biting satires after an attempt on his life was made, orchestrated by Cosimo de' Medici.
