carved with three figures, each wearing decorated robes, holding water pails under scrolling pine branches, oval signature tablet -- 5in. (12.7cm.) high; an ivory okimono of a seated skeleton, a monkey grabbing at its jaw, toads at its feet, details naturalistically defined -- 3¼in. (8.3cm.) high; and a small ivory okimono of immortals with three seated figures holding gourds and cups, before two further figures standing on rockwork and on a tied sack, small oval signature tablet -- 2½in. (6.3cm.) high. (3)
