A Gilt Bronze Figure of Manjushri
Nepal, 13th/14th Century
Standing in slight tribhanga on a lotus base, his right hand held to his side as if holding a sword, his left hand with upturned palm holding a lotus stalk rising up to his left shoulder, wearing a translucent pleated dhoti, necklace, armbands, bracelets, and girdle, with disk earrings and tiara, his hair bound up in jatamukuta and topped with a jewel ornament, his face with serene expression, partially closed eyelids, and round urna between his eyebrows
