A Silver and Gold Inlaid Bronze Figure of Manjushri
Tibeto-Chinese, 18th Century or earlier
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with his right arm raised brandishing the sword, a lotus stem supporting the book of wisdom at his left shoulder, wearing a diaphanous dhoti inlaid with silver and gold roundels, his face with a benign expression surmounted by a tripartite tiara, with a deep reddish brown patina overall
