Major Lambert Brabazon Urmston is seen painted as an Ensign in the 45th Nottinghamshire Regiment. He entered the Army as Ensign in the 45th in 1813 being present at the Battles of Nive, Orthes and Toulouse. He served with the 38th Staffordshire Regiment throughout the Burmese War including the Capture of Rangoon, in which he stormed and captured the stockades of Kemundine and Kumaroot; Battles of Rangoon, Kokein and Pagahm-Mew; attack and capture of Donabew, Prome and Maloon; actions of Sembike and Napadee; In 1842 he served in the Afghan Campaign with the 31st Huntingdonshire Regiment including the actions of Mazeener, Judgulluck and Tezeen and the re-occupation of Cabul and died in 1844 while serving in India with the 31st.
