A LARGE VICTORIAN PARCEL-GILT PUNCH BOWL
maker's mark of Charles Frederick Hancock, London, 1858

Circular and on shaped triangular base, the bowl with central baluster stem and three leaf capped lion-monopodia bracket supports and applied with three lion masks with floral swags between, with everted egg-and-dart rim, the base and bowl engraved with grotesque birds, harpies, demi-figures, masks and scrolling foliage in the Renaissance style, marked on base, supports and bowl - the bowl 21½in. (55cm.) diam.
