two maker's mark of Edward Wakelin, London, 1753 and two with maker's mark of James Parker and Edward Wakelin, London, 1772

Shaped-oval and with gadrooned borders, each engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on reverses and with scratch weights - 20¼in. (51.5cm.) long

The arms are those of Maxwell for Barry, 3rd Baron and 1st Earl of Farnham, (d.1800). He inherited the barony on the death of his brother in 1779. He was created Viscount Farnham in 1781 and then Earl of Farnham in 1785. He married firstly Margaret, daughter and co-heir of Robert King Esq. of Drewstown, Co. Meath, and secondly in 1771 Grace, daughter of Arthur Burdett Esq. of Ballymaney (4)
