the ormolu bezel cast with rope twists and egg-and-dart decoration framing the white enamel Roman annular chapter ring signed A. Paris with blued moon hands and counterpoised sweep centre seconds, subsidiary calendar rings below indicating date, the month with additional inscriptions for Equinoxe du Print. solstice d'Eté/Equinoxe d'Aune. Solstice d'Hiver, the third ring indicating the relevant zodiac, the movement with large great wheel having ten crossings, pinwheel escapement with steel-suspended grid-iron pendulum with fine adjustment to the crutchpiece, the strike train housed on the lower rafter and wound through the centre of the date ring and having countwheel strike on bell mounted behind the bottom right foot, the entire frame mounted on green marble pedestals with ormolu moulded plinths, further rectangular green marble base on toupie feet
