Lot Essay

This jersey was given to Stan Lynn by the Ireland Internationalist Con Martin who made a total of thirty appearances for the Irish International team scoring six goals. Martin was, without doubt, one of the game's best utility players of the late 1940's. He was capped by Ireland in no less than five different positions - goalkeeper, centre-half, left and right-back and right-half! After two seasons at centre-half for Aston Villa, Martin moved back to take the goalkeeping position for the 1951-52 First Division campaign.
