Lot Essay

Casarin, a Mexican painter, sculptor, musician, poet and liberal was deported to France during the Guerra de Intervencion where he worked with Meissonier, Fortuny, Corot and Millet. He returned to Mexico and worked there and in the United States until his death in New York in 1907
