Westley Richards have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in as one of three guns for the retailer J. T. Lake of Adelaide, South Australia. The gun was subsequently purchased by a well-known sportsman and wine-maker, A. K. Lawson of Padthaway Naracoorte, South Australia. The Padthaway vineyard continues to produce wine today
