A very fine set of ruby and diamond sherwani buttons
Circa 1920
Comprising seven larger and six smaller buttons each set with diamonds and central pentagonal-cut ruby star, in original blue leather fitted case
larger buttons 13/16 in. (2.1 cm.) diameter, smaller buttons 5/8 ins (1.6 cm. diameter)
With report No. 37042 dated 25 March 2001 from the Swiss Gemmological Institute (SSEF), stating that the rubies are of Burmese origin with no indication of thermal enhancement
