Cancelled 1855-58 1d. deep rose-red, very large and generous margins, handstamped with part strikes of the "CANCELLED" obliterator used in 1861 on stamps presented to members of the Hill family. This is only the third example of the 1d. value to be discovered (one being in the Royal collection) and is undoubtedly the finest example of the Cape Triangulars. R.P.S. Certificate (1960).
