A related but larger sedan clock is illustrated in Tardy, La Pendule Français, 1967, p. 420.
This escutcheon-shaped clock is framed with golden cord and is conceived as a wall-hung pelta-shield embellished with foliate bas-reliefs. The arabesque scrolls incorporate Psyche's lamp and Venus' badges, comprising a scallop-shell and an apple-basket.
