PROVENANCE:
Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton (1874-1922), and thence by descent.
A group of photographs including press agency photographs of the Endurance in London on the eve of her departure including rare images of scenes below deck, and the ship in white paintwork. She was painted in her more familiar black, to stand out better in the ice, en route south at Buenos Aires.
